Running and hiking N Cheyenne Canyon
Parents, I have a 5-year-old son, and we go up to the mountains all the time. We'll hike and play in the creek or play sun-is-lava. Call me if you'd like to go sometime. 360.304.9585

Hello all,
Just joined CC. Looking forward to this community. Although I live in northern New Mexico, I find myself going to Colorado all the time for adventure. Hiking 14ers, mountain trail races, volunteering at races or just hanging out at coffee shops. Love the mountains.
Hey everyone! My wife and I just moved back to Littleton after nearly 20 years out of state. In those 20 years I (M/35/2:43 marathon) became a bit of an endurance junkie - marathons, mountain ultras, road & gravel cycling, MTB, Climbing/Mountaineering, etc.
Now that I am back in my home state, I find myself without two things:
Local knowledge of trails, routes, races, areas and events (which is why I’m subscribed to Colorado Compass) &
Dedicated athletes and adventurers to train and explore with!
If you are a front-range based athlete, and have room for 1 more in your training groups, summit pushes, big weekend (or weekday) efforts, - I’d love to connect!
How are the Mt Bike trails in GJ looking after all this marvelous rain? 🌧🚲
This channel is all about one question:
What are you getting after this weekend?
Big alpine objective, local trail ride, long run, gravel sufferfest, climbing day, first turns of the season—or just squeezing in a couple hours outside. Drop your plans here.
I’ll kick things off with a recap from this weekend: Doctor Park. One of those classic Colorado MTB rides that earns its reputation—the climb makes you work for it, the scenery delivers, and that descent is an absolute ripper. Exactly the kind of ride that reminds you why fall riding in Colorado is hard to beat.
Now, what’s next?

Hopefully this becomes the spot to steal an idea for the weekend, get beta on an objective, or find someone else who wants to get after it.
So… what’s on the hit list this weekend?
Love the idea of a space to find local adventure friends! I moved back to CO after 25 years away. Excited for winter and always looking for riding friends 🏂Hoping to build a small backcountry crew (nothing crazy, conservative terrain). Spending fall hiking and MTB. Arvada based. I would love to find a community of like minded women nearby!
Consider this the trailhead for the Colorado Compass community.
This is the catch-all channel—introductions, adventure photos, conditions reports, questions, questionable route ideas, gear talk, weekend plans, or anything else happening in the Colorado outdoors.
Since we’re building this community from scratch, let’s kick it off with a quick intro:
📍 Where in Colorado are you based?
🏔 What are your main sports?
🎯 What’s one objective you still want to knock out this year?
I’ll start:
I’m based in Colorado Springs and spend most of my time bouncing between mountain biking, gravel/road cycling, trail running, skiing, and scrambling. I’m always hunting for somewhere new to explore—and I’m hoping this community makes it easier for all of us to find new objectives and people to tackle them with. After summiting Long's a handful of times, I've been eyeing the Cables route this fall before the ice creeps in.
